Free QR Code Generator

Turn a link, text, a WhatsApp number, or Wi-Fi details into a QR code and download it as PNG or SVG. The codes are static, so they never expire.

Free QR Code Generator

Processed in your browser

Static QR code: the content is stored in the code itself with no redirect link, so it never expires and cannot be changed after printing. Scan it with a phone before you print.

Files stay in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Chat on WhatsApp

This free QR code generator turns a link, plain text, a WhatsApp number, or Wi-Fi details into a QR code in seconds. Pick the content type, type your data, and the code appears in the preview, ready to download as PNG or SVG. You can make as many QR codes as you like without signing up, and every code is created in your browser, so its content is never sent to a Dokurapi server.

Static and dynamic QR codes

The codes made here are static QR codes: the content is stored in the pattern itself. There is no redirect link in between, so a code keeps working for as long as its content does, for example as long as the page it points to is online. The trade-off is that a static code cannot be changed once printed. If your link changes, make and print a new code.

Dynamic QR codes point to a short link run by a service, which lets the owner change the destination and count scans. Because they depend on that service, they can stop working if the service shuts down or a subscription lapses. Dokurapi does not offer dynamic QR codes yet. If you need them, tell us through the WhatsApp link in the tool.

What you can put in a QR code

TypeWhat is storedTypical use
LinkA web address. If you leave out https://, the tool adds it.Online menus, forms, shop profiles
TextAny text, including non-Latin scripts and emojiAsset tags, short notes
WhatsAppA wa.me link to your number, with an optional opening message. Enter the number with its country code.Orders, customer support
Wi-FiNetwork name, password, and security type in the WIFI: format phone cameras recogniseGuest Wi-Fi in a cafe or office

The Wi-Fi format follows the one documented by the ZXing project. Recent Android and iPhone cameras can usually join the network straight from the code. Remember that the password is stored as plain text inside the code, so anyone who scans it can read it. Use it for guest networks only.

Size, colour, and error correction

Choose a PNG size from 256 to 2048 pixels. For large prints such as banners or stickers, download the SVG, which stays sharp at any size. Every code keeps a blank border of at least four modules, as the QR standard requires, so cameras can find it easily.

Error correction sets how much of the code can be damaged or covered while it still scans: L about 7%, M 15%, Q 25%, and H 30%. Higher levels make the pattern denser. M suits most uses, while H helps for stickers that get scratched. You can change the colours too, but keep a dark code on a light background with strong contrast. The tool warns you when the colours are too pale or inverted.

Content limits and printing tips

One QR code holds at most 2,953 bytes at the largest version with level L, according to the DENSO WAVE standards page. The longer the content, the denser the pattern and the harder it is to scan from a distance, so prefer short links. Before printing a batch, scan the code with two different phones from the real viewing distance. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

Need a signed document to go with your code? Use sign PDF. To add the code to an application bundle, convert it with photo to PDF or shrink it with compress photo. The content of your codes never leaves the browser, as the privacy policy explains.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. No account, no limit on the number of codes set by Dokurapi, and no watermark on the result.
Do QR codes from Dokurapi expire?
No. They are static codes with the content stored inside, with no redirect link. A code keeps working as long as its content does, for example while your link is online.
Can I change the content after printing?
No. Editing after printing needs a dynamic QR code, which Dokurapi does not offer yet. If your link changes, create a new code.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG suits chats, social media, and documents. SVG suits printing because it stays sharp at any size.
How do I make a WhatsApp QR code?
Choose WhatsApp, enter your number with its country code, and add an opening message if you like. Whoever scans it lands in a chat with you.
Is a Wi-Fi QR code safe?
The password is stored as plain text inside the code, so anyone who scans it can read it. Use it for a guest network, not your main one.
Does Dokurapi store what I put in a QR code?
No. Codes are made in your browser and their content is not sent to any server.
Can it make a linear barcode instead of a QR code?
Not yet. This tool makes QR codes. If you need product barcodes, tell us on WhatsApp.
